Lollipops by Craig Robinson

Craig Robinson is an English artist that created cartoons of famous rock stars using round flat heads and the distinct hair and clothing styles of these icons. The simplicity is brilliant, who needs faces?I had fun guessing the identities, but if you are impatient you can “mouse over” the images for the names.

As a sample, here is his representation of none other than…

David Bowie!

(No, the mouse over option doesn’t work here. I’m low-tech and Mr. High Tech is elsewhere. It does work on the Lollipops site, no worries!)

Did you guess it correctly? If so, you’ve just shown your age.. Or maybe your cool factor.. Or maybe .. both?

86 Mac Plus Vs. 07 AMD DualCore. You Wont Believe Who Wins

I had run across this link awhile back and just remembered it. Its very funny stuff- this guy took an old 1986 Mac Plus (with System 6.0.8, MS Word 3.01, and Excel 1.5) against a modern dual-core AMD system (with Windows XP and Office 2007).

He lays all of the data out with charts and graphs like you’d expect in any system shoot-out. The surprising thing is that the old Mac performs many daily office tasks faster than the modern machine! From boot time, to loading applications to scrolling around a Word document.

Delicious Online Bookmarking

I wanted to let everybody know about a new idea in bookmarking that I’ve been playing with lately. The idea isn’t particularly new, but the execution and way it’s being used are.

I think the “”official”" term is “”social bookmarking”", an offshoot of social networking. The main idea is that you keep all of your bookmarks on a webpage, rather than on your computer – and you let the world see them.

Do you appreciate fine Native American artwork? Can’t think of something unique to buy for that person who “”has everything?”"

Well, look no further. TheOnlineTradingPost.com has (will have) the perfect gift – shipped directly to you from the heart of Indian Country.

The Online Trading Post is a new venture started by a very good friend of mine who grew up in and around Albuquerque, NM. He currently lives in Virginia, but has teamed up with a friend back in NM to travel out to the reservations to strike deals with the local artisans and ship the highest quality painting, sculpture, rugs, and jewelry direct to you.

The site is just starting up and isn’t selling yet (well, it wasn’t yesterday, but that could change tomorrow :-) but there ARE some great pictures of items that will be for sale.

Happy hunting! And if you decide to buy something, tell ‘em Wendell sent ya
