Charlie Brown- Manga Style
I’m not into anime/manga, but these modern Charlie Brown interpretations are really cool!
By popular demand, I found a rough sketch of Snoopy from the artist.. still no Woodstock though.

Oh, wow! This is amazing!
on March 7th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
Kinda weirdish but kinda smart. Who would think of manga and charlie brown together. LOL
on March 8th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
Word up, just wanted to say what an awesome job you did. Anyone who doesn’t appreciate the way you captured all the right character attitudes is a Blockhead! ;P
on March 17th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
well, when this will be come an anime?
on March 21st, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Muito bom!!!!
Excelente trabalho.
Quando vai virar quadrinhos???
on April 8th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Those are some really cool interpretations but they doesn’t really look alike at all. In fact, if the creator would not put the original draw we won’t know who they are.
Also, I don’t see snoopy or woodstock anywhere, so, what’s Charlie Brown without them?
CHARLIE BROWN IS NOTHING WITHOUT SNOOPY OR WOODSTOCK
on April 8th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
on April 14th, 2008 at 10:21 am
this is so cool. i wish i could draw like that. i’m so jelouse that i didn’t think of it first. it’s a really good idea. i feacking love it.
on April 18th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
This the illest thing I have seen in years. A lot of people can draw but this is like new up to date way to draw a classic. It a 5 WOW star rating.
on April 19th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
It’s awesome but I agree with “Los verdaderos peanuts”, where is snoopy and woodstock, besides that everything is perfect. We cannot expect them to be very alike to the original draws but we must admit that they look very cool
on April 23rd, 2008 at 8:57 am
hey it nice done for´charlie brown original charaters to be manga i like it very much. just one thing can you read it in comics or get movie or episodes of it. it would to be fun. for me its 10 stars for the manga style of charlie brown
on April 30th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Is this new teen Japanese Charlie Brown.
on May 1st, 2008 at 11:32 pm
These are great.
on May 3rd, 2008 at 9:19 am
THIS IS SO BADASS!!! I swear this made me laugh. The artistic design is to be applauded. The artist really captured each indivudals personality, and matured it into a kindof high school feel. I really like how the three guys with the piano and trash and stuff, are all like gangsta wanabe’s, and how the girls have that( U know u want this but u cant have it) feeling. Kind of like patty’s shirt XD U might have made Charlie a little too serious in the first one, but thats cool. and also the little sister was good, but it kinda feels like lolicon…but hey! that’s anime nowadays! I ABSOLUTELY APPLAUD THE ARTISTS WORK!!! U DID A GREAT JOB! ……Charlie Brown Fo Life!!!
on May 3rd, 2008 at 5:34 pm
Ecelente!!! cual es el origen de estos dibujos???
on May 3rd, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Wow, that is soo strange! OMG Charlie Brown’s hair looks crazy hahahaha.
on May 6th, 2008 at 11:13 am
I just dislike the eyes and most of the characters and senarios is off key ( like the one with glasses ) . While funny I would prefer them to directly match there characters then be misplaced. If this was a animation I would be mad dew to the quickness of the drawings but would still look at. Also the problem is that these are western characters and even in Anime there westenr features stand out. Also there is a Anime that uses Charlie Browns true nature and is a whole series of it ( not recently )
In anime western characters stand-out form there Japanese counter parts. Otherwise this is sellable material and will fetch a high price but I still prefer the original characters.
why did I click this page
on May 13th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
on May 23rd, 2008 at 12:26 pm
OMG THIS IS SOOOOOO HOTTTT!!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS !!! BUT UMM I DONT C SNOOPY OR WOODSTOCK…. U SHOULD DO IT !!!!
on June 7th, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Super Sweet!
on July 20th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Jaja, no está mal aunque me gustarÃa que fuese otro tipo de manga, uno de mejor calidad, pues, aquà parece más una ilustración tipo Witch. Ignorando eso yo le pongo un 10…
on July 20th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
Scary… But nice drawing skills!
on August 13th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
These characters are great. I grew up with the Peanuts and would never want them to change, but the Manga characters bridge the gap from my youth in the 70-80s to the large audience that has embraced this ‘modern’ way to animate.
In any case, really nicely done.
on September 13th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
on September 19th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
The drawings are nice. I like the characterizations and the fact that it’s really just The Peanuts gang all grow’d up (I’m not sure if I would watch such a thing tho).
My only real complaint is that Charlie brown was a blond kid with really short hair. He wasn’t actually bald.
on October 4th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
LOL look at Lucy’s shirt “you wish”
on October 17th, 2008 at 9:37 am
This is awsome! A great job of capturing the Peanut’s personality as teens. As for Snoopy… hate to remind everyone, but Snoopy is a dog, and dogs have a shorter lifespan than humans so… well, I know… not very pleasant to think about.
on October 18th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
So cool!!! You’re amazing! Awesome!
on November 30th, 2008 at 12:57 pm

Once again this are really cool!!
on June 30th, 2009 at 9:14 am
Wtf man, oh God, I’ve gone blind.
Japan is like a maligne tumour spreading its cancer to the rest of the world through the internet.
on July 8th, 2009 at 8:02 pm
This is wonderful. I’m a H.S. art teacher, hoping to inspire students to create something cool. You guys just inspired me. (I’m also the ‘woefully ignorant advisor for the Anime club). I chanced upon this site, and will pass it along. Thanks for a terrific surprise. Keep it up.
But I also would like to see Snoopy and Woodstock.
on August 26th, 2009 at 8:12 am
Captivating.
on September 3rd, 2009 at 10:39 am
Cool interpretation. The little red haired girl is pretty cute! haha
on October 6th, 2009 at 1:35 am
I think charlie brown is really cool and the rest of the gang are cool to and like these other people are saying where is snoopy&woodstock I think they should be there to.
on October 14th, 2009 at 2:03 pm

on October 14th, 2009 at 2:04 pm

on October 15th, 2009 at 8:19 am
I’m certainly not a manga fan but these are way cool! I’m going to print these off! Ditto on the Snoopy and Woodstock request . . .

on October 19th, 2009 at 1:58 pm
wheres linus’s blanket?
on October 21st, 2009 at 1:51 am
Linus blanket is in his back pocket hanging out instead in his hand,I almost didn’t see it myself until the last minute.
on October 22nd, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Excellent. Obviously done with a lot of respect toward the Schultz’ original work. Schultz’ did do a teen version once in the sixties along the lines of Archie, but it was boring and basically the original gang with longer legs. This version stands on its own. Who knew Lucy would be so hot? Though, I’m not sure about Schroeder, I thought he would end up looking a little more like Beethoven (the composer, not the St. Bernard). And regarding people’s comments about Snoopy and Woodstock, I understand the artist’s dilemma here, if the gang got older Snoopy would be a pretty old beagle and I’m not sure I would want to see a really old beagle walking around with a cane. No one knows what type of bird Woodstock is, though we know he’s not a parrot, ostrich, penguin, hummingbird or bird of prey. At best, I would give his life span to be 5 to 6 years. So in this case Woodstock would have to be depicted as a grave marker.
on November 5th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
cool nice job it looks awesome
on November 5th, 2009 at 10:02 pm

on November 9th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
These all alright, very talented but very genetic. I wouldnt say they’re in character, the only one who releatively looks like they would act that way is Lucy.
Still it’s interesting and well drawn~
on November 10th, 2009 at 12:04 am
Charlie should be fully bald and it should have snoopy and woodstalk.
on November 10th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
One more thing Linus blanket should be a sport coat:)
Quoting the strip
on November 18th, 2009 at 6:54 pm

These are inspired.

on December 15th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
It’s the Charlie Brown of today!!!
on December 16th, 2009 at 11:29 am
Charlie Brown looks evil – not like the lovable loser we all know. Drawings need some emotion instilled in them they’re devoid of feeling.
on December 16th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Shouldn’t Sally be on Linus’s back?
Peppermint Patty looks Lina Invere-ish.
on December 18th, 2009 at 9:02 am
This is not Charlie brown at all.
on December 20th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
What the hell happened to Charlie Brown’s chest?
on December 20th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Charlie’s hair looks like a ponytail sort-of.
He’s always falling in love with a red head girl.
Little red haired girl is never actually seen.
There’s Freida-red head girl with curly hair
Heather-a read headed girl with long straight hair
on December 24th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
This is incredible! Good work!
on January 5th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
just missing snoopy and woodstock but amazing job!
on January 10th, 2010 at 7:55 pm
So Much AWESOME!
on January 12th, 2010 at 6:05 pm
This is really cool. I never saw this type of “growing up” in a sense.
on January 19th, 2010 at 5:59 pm
Wow, this is really a lot of fun. I agree with many others who would like to see your interpretation of Snoopy and Woodstock as well! And just remember, for those worrying about age, in cartoon world, people can grow up, but pets aren’t always bound by the ruls of time. Sometimes they age like Farley in \for better or for worse\ and somtimes, they live forever.
Snoopy should be one of the latter
on January 25th, 2010 at 11:30 am
[...] I’d post this anyway… Apparently an artist has restyled the classic characters of Charlie Brown in a Japanese/Manga Style. Similarly this concept has been applied to Calvin and Hobbes. Published: January 25, 2010 Filed [...]

EXCELENTE!! felicidades esta muy bueno el trabajo!!
good job!!
on February 11th, 2010 at 3:37 am
This is way too cool!
on March 19th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
These are cool but a bit trippy. I do love the idea of them being in their teens and I think you’ve captured it very well. I agree with Charlie Brown looking way to serious. But it’s still cool to see. As for the little red head girl never being seen in Cat’s comment she is seen in one of the Valentines Day episodes!! But to me I think a lot of their personalities match them. Like for Linus’s blanket… tho a bit small at least the blanket is there. I mean he’s in high school he’s not gonna carry some huge blanket to school. Great job to the artist. I do prefer the originals of course cause you can never go wrong with the classic. But it is a very cool and creative. I’m always up for creativity!!! BIG THUMBS UP!!
on March 19th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
Oh wait… It might be in one of the Thanksgiving episodes that you see the little red head girl. I can’t remember for sure if it was Valentines Day for Thanksgiving. I’m pretty sure Thanksgiving cause I remember they played a football game before they had their little dance.
on March 19th, 2010 at 1:45 pm
Well I had a post before the other one regarding which episode the little red head girl is seen. So I don’t know what happened to that one…. But my previous comment was basically to CAT who said that she was never atually seen when she was in either one of the episodes I said in my other comment. But anyways… I love the drawings of the characters. I do agree that Charlie Brown looks a bit to serious and should look more approachable. LOL. But I love it. Also everyone we have to remember in these drawings their in their teens. Linus isn’t going to carry some huge blanket to high school with him. At least the blanket is there in his pocket. Tho small but at least the artist did stick to the originals the best he/she could without losing any of the major attributes. You did a great job and love the creativity!!
on April 9th, 2010 at 11:10 am
Wow these are great…… Who knew Charlie and his friends could look so cool……X _ X!!!!!
on April 9th, 2010 at 2:44 pm
