I don’t know why it was decided to open the sarcophagus after so many years.. If its an anniversary; or if some committee finally got enough votes; but I find this fascinating.

King Tutankhamun, the young boy Pharoah of ancient Egypt and one-time ruler of most of the civilized Western and Middle Eastern world, was finally revealed for all to see. The ancient mask and linens have been removed and now we can see what the young ruler of the ancient world looked like. While he served for only a very short time before meeting an untimely death, many feel he was murdered; this king has captured the world’s attention since first being discovered in the early 20th Century (1922) because his tomb had been left untouched by thieves and poachers for 3000 years.
