Video Database

Posted on October 21st, 2004 in Entertainment by Chooch

I’ve launched a new video database thingy.. It’s an inventory of the movies we have here.

You can view the database alphabetically, by newest titles, or do searches by actor, dirctor, genre, etc. And everything is enhanced by the Internet Movie Database which automagically supplies images for the covers and actors, and all of the vital information about each title.

There is an RSS feed represented at the bottom right of the homepage here, which shows the last dozen or so items to be added to the database.

Oh, and there is a sort for the “”wishlist”" of things that we don’t have, but want you know, with Christmas coming and all .

You can check it out with this URL http://oxfoot.com/ipw-web/videodb/, and I’ll be adding it to the menu on the left at some point.

If you’d like your own video inventory, drop me a line and I’ll set one up for you with your own name and password and everything. You can choose whether you want to make it publically accessible, or private. And it’s literally three clicks to add a title, so it’s not very time consuming to enter movies.

New Photos

Posted on October 11th, 2004 in Announcements, Photos by Chooch

We’ve added a slew of new photos to the gallery.

You can get to the gallery with this link, or the link a little ways down the menu to the left, as usual.

Among the photos added are several hundred from our summer trip to California.

A new section called “”Wendell Misc“” which is a collection of goofy pictures and videos that I find, or that friends e-mail to me.

…aaaannnddd last but not least an archive of my favorite comic strips which include Dilbert, Foxtrot, Calvin & Hobbs, Sinfest, Sluggy Freelance, and a few others you probably haven’t heard of, but should :o)

This brings our total to 1,496 images in 38 photo albums!!

Please remember - you are welcome to upload your own pictures on here too! If you’d like a place to post family, vacation, or goofy internet pics, this is it! Totaly free for friends and family. Just let me know if you try and have any problems.

Not only can you post pictures, but everything here in the gallery can automatically be output as professional photo prints from several different companies — it’s as easy as opening a picture you want, then selecting “”print with shutterfly”" (or any of three other services).

The prints start at only .29 cents each for 4×6 !! (and no, I don’t make any money from the photo prints. It’s just here as a convenience for us all)

enjoy!

Thunderbirds Are Go!

Posted on October 7th, 2004 in Entertainment by Chooch

Actually, the title of this movie should be Thunderbirds Aren’t Go!

I suspected that this was true when the opening credits were done in the cartoonesq style. They could not even get the silhouettes of the aircraft correct. The colors however were true 60’s psychedelic.

Through the series in the sixties, I had believed that no one could take pictures of, track or otherwise get any specificartions of the Thunderbirds technology without them knowing and stopping it. So, the Hood (I believe that is who Ben Kingsly was portraying) has one of his cronies shoot some goo on the side of TB1 and this enables them to track TB1 to the base. What hooey! Or maybe that should be what gooey!

Bill Paxton as the elder Mr. Tracey is way to young.

Allen and Tin Tin in high school - SPARE ME!

Storeyline - again SPARE ME!

The only redeeming part of this movie was Lady Penelopy, Parker and their FAB car, FAB1. Parker in particular really fit the part.

I am giving this movie a rating of 5 (on a scale of 10) but, only out of respect for Lady P, Parker, and FAB1. Whthout them they might as well not made the movie at all.

How about a move about Lady P, Parker, and FAB1. Now, THAT would be something!
